An established industry player is seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join their team as a part-time officer. This role is crucial in supporting vulnerable individuals experiencing homelessness, acting as the first point of contact at the walk-in centre. You will engage with clients face-to-face, assess their needs, and provide tailored advice and support. This role involves interacting with homeless people attending the walk-in centre, serving as the first point of contact. Most service users will have an assigned contact, but the officer must be prepared to cover and support if they are unable to attend.
The key responsibilities include understanding and deciding eligibility and priority, offering advice, and dealing with difficult situations. The day-to-day duties are as follows:
The role is part-time, for 3 days a week, office-based in Sheffield city centre, starting ASAP and running until the end of October. You will receive approximately one week of shadowing and support before working independently. A DBS check is required.
