Job summary

A dynamic housing services provider in East London is seeking a compassionate Housing Solutions Officer. The role involves tackling homelessness through tailored advice and support, maintaining cases, and developing housing plans. Ideal candidates will have housing legislation knowledge and strong communication skills. This is a 3 to 6 month ongoing contract with standard working hours.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of current housing legislation and the Homelessness Reduction Act.
  • Experience working in housing, homelessness prevention, or a related field.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Assess homeless applications and determine duties under housing legislation.
  • Deliver high-quality, customer-focused housing advice and prevention services.
  • Develop and implement Personalised Housing Plans (PHPs).
  • Liaise with landlords and support agencies to identify suitable housing options.
  • Maintain accurate records and case notes in line with legal requirements.
  • Contribute to the development of homelessness prevention initiatives.

About the Role We are seeking a compassionate, driven, and knowledgeable Housing Solutions Officer to join our dynamic Housing Services team. In this role, you will be on the frontline of tackling homelessness, providing tailored advice, interventions, and support to prevent and relieve homelessness in accordance with the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
You will work directly with individuals and families facing housing difficulties, helping them to explore realistic housing options and supporting them in achieving sustainable housing solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess homeless applications and determine duties under housing legislation.
  • Deliver high-quality, customer-focused housing advice and prevention services.
  • Develop and implement Personalised Housing Plans (PHPs).
  • Liaise with landlords, housing providers, support agencies, and internal departments to identify suitable housing options.
  • Maintain accurate records and case notes in line with legal and procedural requirements.
  • Contribute to the development of innovative homelessness prevention initiatives.
