About The Role
We are looking for an experienced
Housing Quality and Standards Manager to lead the strategic development and delivery of a wide-ranging quality and compliance improvement programme. This is a key leadership role where you will ensure housing services meet statutory obligations, deliver excellent outcomes for residents and align with long-term transformation goals.
Purpose of the Role
- Take strategic responsibility for quality, compliance and service improvement across housing services.
- Lead and develop policies, procedures and service level agreements related to casework, regulatory compliance and quality improvement.
- Drive improvement of the central casework function to deliver better, faster and more effective responses to residents and stakeholders.
- Oversee compliance with the Regulator of Social Housing’s requirements, including direct inspection readiness and broader policy improvements.
- Represent the directorate to internal and external stakeholders on matters of casework, quality and regulatory standards.
- Lead, motivate and manage a team of up to 12 casework professionals and housing officers, ensuring continuous improvement in all resident-facing casework.
- Align the directorate’s casework and regulatory improvement strategy with corporate transformation objectives, statutory responsibilities and reputational risk management.
Requirements Key Responsibilities
- Deliver service improvement projects that drive measurable positive change.
- Ensure housing delivery aligns with the legal and regulatory framework for social housing.
- Build strong partnerships with stakeholders to push projects forward in a complex environment.
- Use strong analytical skills to interpret systems and policies, producing actionable recommendations.
- Write clear, high-quality reports and presentations for officers, residents and stakeholders.
- Contribute to inspection readiness and ensure continuous improvement to meet the Regulator of Social Housing’s standards.
- Use Microsoft Dynamics and/or PowerBI for reporting and analysis (desirable).
About You
- Excellent knowledge of the legal and regulatory framework for social housing.
- Detailed understanding of the Regulator of Social Housing’s requirements for council landlords.
- Proven experience delivering service improvement projects in large organisations.
- Experience managing operational housing delivery for a council or registered provider.
- Strong experience developing and managing casework services or supporting housing casework.
- Effective people leader with experience managing and motivating teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.
- Strong analytical, writing and presentation skills.
- Ability to build relationships and influence at all levels, inside and outside the organisation.
- Understanding of and commitment to equal opportunities and staff values.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics and/or PowerBI is desirable.
