Vacancy: Housing Project Officer

We have recently had some internal movement within the Strategic Housing Services team, resulting in a vacancy for a Housing Project Officer. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our vision of delivering excellent housing services across the Borough.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about making a real-life difference, creating sustainable homes for all, and supporting homelessness prevention within our communities.

You will thrive in utilising creativity and available resources to develop innovative and effective approaches to preventing homelessness and supporting those most at risk and in housing need.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and well-rounded candidate with a strong track record of building and maintaining effective relationships. The ideal candidate will be a creative thinker with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

About you

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting the Council’s large-scale review of its Housing Allocation Policy and subsequent projects to implement changes.
• Leading the IT development of the Locata system’s back office and the Council’s Choice-Based Lettings website.
• Redesigning and developing supporting processes and procedures.
• Creating essential documentation and delivering training sessions for internal and external stakeholders across various services and organisations.

You will need in-depth working knowledge of the Locata system, the ability to interpret complex policy into practical and effective processes, strong written communication skills to produce clear, user-friendly documentation, and self-motivation with strong project management skills to manage time and priorities effectively.
