A local authority in Greater London is looking for a highly motivated individual to join their Housing Options Team. You'll be responsible for assessing homelessness applications and assisting clients in securing accommodation. We are looking for a highly motivated team player to join our Housing Options Team.
The Housing Options Team is responsible for preventing and relieving homelessness under the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017, as well as managing the Council’s Housing Register.
Reporting to the Housing Options Manager, you will carry out assessments of homeless applications to determine statutory duties owed to customers. You will help customers retain their existing accommodation or secure alternative accommodation.
You will have your own caseload and participate in the team’s duty rota.
The role requires excellent communication and negotiation skills with a wide range of people and organizations.
Your experience working in a challenging front-line homelessness or similar service will help you remain calm under pressure while delivering high-quality customer service.
You should have a good understanding of homelessness legislation and state benefits, as well as excellent IT skills, the ability to keep accurate records, and meet deadlines.

The role offers a mixture of Office and Home Working (Hybrid). The post holder must have a valid driving license and a vehicle available for work purposes.
