Job summary

Stonewater is recruiting a Housing Officer to cover Weston-super-Mare and surrounding areas. You will join a team focused on local presence, managing tenancies, and proactive estate management to help residents sustain their homes.

You’ll work on safeguarding, ASB, welfare reform, and partnership work with authorities to deliver confident, compassionate customer service. Flexible hours and a local patch are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in housing management or related customer-facing role within social housing.
• Knowledge of tenancy, estate management, lettings or neighbourhood services.
• Understanding of housing legislation including safeguarding, ASB and welfare reform.
• Strong communication and influencing skills, able to stay calm under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full tenancy lifecycle from sign-up to end of tenancy.
• Handle tenancy changes, mutual exchanges and tenancy breach investigations.
• Support lettings and voids to minimise rent loss and reduce turnaround times.
• Carry out estate inspections and address neighbourhood issues.
• Manage anti-social behaviour and complex cases with sensitivity.
• Identify vulnerability and safeguarding needs and support appropriate responses.
• Complete fire risk assessments and monitor health and safety issues.
• Collaborate with local authorities and agencies to support residents.

Salary : A GBP 36,000.00 per annum + A GBP 3,715 car allowance

We are looking for a Housing Officer to cover the following patch:

• Weston:Super:Mare, Highbridge, Bridgewater and surrounding areas

What youll be doing

Responsibilities

Youll take ownership of a defined patch, acting as the key point of contact for residents and ensuring services are responsive, compliant, and customerAEUR'focused. Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing the full tenancy lifecycle, from signAEUR'up through to end of tenancy


• Handling tenancy changes, mutual exchanges, and investigations into tenancy breaches or fraud


• Supporting lettings and voids activity to minimise rent loss and turnaround times


• Carrying out estate inspections and addressing neighbourhood and environmental issues


• Managing lowAEUR'level antiAEUR'social behaviour, neighbour disputes, and supporting more complex cases


• Identifying and responding to vulnerability, safeguarding, hoarding, and nonAEUR'access cases


• Completing personAEUR'centred fire risk assessments and monitoring health and safety issues


• Investigating complaints and learning from outcomes to improve services


• Working in partnership with local authorities and external agencies to support customers effectively

What were looking for

• Youll bring experience of housing management or a similar customerAEUR'facing role, along with the confidence to manage complex and sensitive situations professionally. Youll also have:


• Experience of tenancy, estate management, lettings or neighbourhood services within social housing


• Knowledge of housing legislation, including safeguarding, ASB and welfare reform


• Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to work calmly under pressure

• Confidence using digital systems and data to manage cases and improve performance
