Job description

We are currently working in partnership with a Housing Association in Manchester, who are recruiting for a Housing Officer on a temporary contract for five months. The position is due to start immediately and the hourly rate is GBP22-24.00 per hour umbrella.

The ideal candidate will have access to their own vehicle, have experience within Housing Manager and be willing to travel on patch 3 days a week.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Conduct viewings, sign-ups, and site visits, ensuring a positive experience and representation of the organisation
  • Manage rent arrears collection via face-to-face contact, phone, or email
  • Work within budget limits, including estate service charges, and support the Neighbourhood Manager with patch budget oversight
  • Handle ASB complaints, interview involved parties, gather evidence, mediate or take action, and attend court when needed
  • Provide welfare and benefits advice to help clients boost their income
  • Assist the Neighbourhood Manager with incident and complaint investigations, including trend analysis
  • Resolve tenancy breaches promptly and effectively
  • Serve NOSPs, NTQs, and attend evictions as necessary
  • Liaise with internal teams and external agencies to coordinate care and support for vulnerable tenants
  • Maintain accurate records of arrears actions, contacts, visits, and agreement

Experience required:

  • Experience required in Social Housing
  • Experience working with customers within housing

Working hours:

  • 35 hours per week - 3 days a week on patch
  • Monday - Friday, 9am-5pm
