Job description

We are looking to recruit a well organised, self-motivated Housing Needs Panel Co-ordinator to work as part of our busy Housing Needs Panel Team. You will be required to process applications for additional priority on the housing register from a range of applicants including those with disabilities, complex needs and those living in supported housing, hospital and rehabilitation settings. You will liaise with other services within the Council and external agencies to gather crucial information to support applications. This will require you to have excellent communication skills

You will work as part of a team dealing with all forms of contact including face to face, telephone and electronic with both applicants and professionals. The ability to co-ordinate multi-agency meetings, take detailed minutes, produce reports, statistical information and letters, whilst meeting deadlines are essential requirements of this post.

Applicants can present in very difficult and stressful situations and need support and advice to resolve their housing difficulties. You will need to be able to manage applicants who display a range of behaviours which can be challenging at times remaining focussed on achieving the best possible outcome for the household.

The ability to prioritise and organise your workload efficiently is a vital part of this role as well as a real focus on the needs of the applicant ensuring an effective customer journey is maintained at all times.
