This is an interim cover position for the Service Manager for HOUSING on the Isle of Wight, located off the south coast of England with quick direct links via boat to Southampton, Portsmouth, Southsea, and Lymington.
The individual will likely be required on-site for most of the working week; applicants must be prepared to be based on the Island for the duration of the contract. The role also includes out-of-hours/callout duties, with a total of 37 hours per week.
We seek an experienced and effective leader for the role of Service Manager for Housing, responsible for operational management of housing teams within the Adult Social Care and Housing Directorate.
The successful candidate will lead aspects of our housing transformation programme and deliver responsive, effective, and safe housing services that meet the needs of the individuals supported.
Using a person-centred approach, the candidate will work closely with provider organisations to deliver a service that is consistent, compliant with legislative requirements, and optimizes available resources.
Applicants should have detailed knowledge of housing issues, national guidance, and statutory requirements in these areas, along with substantial experience working in complex and sensitive situations in a calm and proactive manner.
Previous experience in managing and delivering services, ideally within a multi-agency setting, is required.
