Housing Management Coordinator
Darlington - Hybrid working between Darlington and home.
Permanent, full-time (37.5 hpw)
Salary £25,838 per annum plus great benefits including Health Cash Plan
This is a great opportunity for a Housing Management Coordinator to join our team here in Darlington STEP. As our housing and property expert, you’ll focus on tenancy support for our customers, ensuring their homes are safe and well maintained. Providing a housing management service, you’ll support them to manage and maintain their tenancy and rent accounts with the aim of helping them move to maintain and sustain accommodation.

Typical day as a Housing Management Coordinator

  1. Mental health and customers with complex needs.
  2. Ensuring that our 15 customers' properties are homes they can be proud of, supporting them by engaging and involving them in their tenancies.
  3. Helping customers with housing benefit claims, ensuring these are received on their rent accounts.
  4. Issuing and signing warning letters and notices when needed, which may lead to attending court.
  5. Preparing properties for new tenants and turning around vacant or void properties within set timescales to maximize occupancy.
  6. Ensuring health and safety compliance and maintenance standards are met.

You bring

  • Experience managing a housing management caseload and overseeing landlord duties.
  • Knowledge of re-letting rooms or units, rent collection, and formal tenancy actions.
  • Ability to lead within a team, offering guidance and support to colleagues.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive, positive attitude, well-organized, and able to work independently.
  • Confident in collaborating with colleagues and external partners from diverse backgrounds.

Job details

  • Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm
  • Based in Darlington, with travel around properties
  • Proficient in using technology for support plans, benefit claims, and tenancy sign-ups
  • Must have a vehicle insured for business purposes; mileage paid
  • Enhanced DBS check required; paid for by us
