3,718 young people received advice and support. 1,616 young people were supported by us during the year. 1,034 young people lived in our 40+ accommodation schemes. Up to 590 young people lived with us every night. 87% of young people moved on from St Basils in a planned, positive way.

Job Title: Housing Management & Compliance Coordinator - FTC until 01.04.2026
Reports to: Youth Services Manager
Hours of work: Full Time (37.5 hours per week)
Fixed Term Contract: 12 months
Key Responsibilities:
- To enable young people to sustain their tenancy and equip them in relation to taking responsibility for their property.
- To empower and show how to report repairs, keep property in an acceptable clean manner.
- To help maximize and retain young people’s income.
- To ensure voids meet lettable standards before letting, including cleaning and ensuring any necessary repairs are carried out.
- To enable young people to pay their rent and service charge.
- To assist young people in debt management or where necessary signpost them to specialist agencies to address these issues.
- To prepare a weekly report for the Manager detailing arrears triggered detailing the procedures and action taken.
- To take responsibility for safeguarding the welfare of young people.
- To collect and record rent and other payments in line with financial procedures.
- To inform support staff of any support needs or concerns you may have identified for young people.
- To assist young people with benefit claims, including assisting with completion and submission of claim forms and making telephone calls.
- To be responsible for arranging and conducting young people’s admissions visits to the service and the induction of new residents.
- To support and assist young people to maintain their accommodation to an acceptable standard.
- To undertake a range of administrative tasks such as recording payments, voids checklists, health and safety inspections, etc.
- To support any future initiatives to support young people and also the organisation to maximize income.
- To work closely with support staff to deal with any breaches of tenure in line with procedure/policy.
To be flexible by being available out of hours providing on call on a rota across several services to offer information, advice and guidance to colleagues, and where necessary provide emergency cover within projects.
Leading the Team:
- To contribute to the development of a cohesive and effective staff team.
- To contribute to the induction of Progression Coaches, Housing Management Workers, House Keepers, Volunteers, Students and Trainees, including day to day supervision and performance management.
- To work as part of a team, providing cover for colleagues as required by the line manager and to participate in providing an on call system and duty cover. This will include working anti-social hours including weekends on a rota in order to be accessible to young people and to ensure necessary staff cover.
- Lead and contribute to team meetings.
- Advise the management team of any concerns, changes or supplementary services needed.
- To deputise in the absence of the Youth Services Manager as deemed appropriate.
- To monitor service delivery and identify gaps or areas of improvement and provide detailed findings to the Youth Services Manager.
- Be supportive and respectful to colleagues and management.
Qualifications:
- NVQ 4 Advice & Guidance, Care or equivalent or working towards Youth Work, Social Work, or equivalent.

- Working with young people in the following settings/Types of work – Youth Work, Residential or Social Work, Probation, Community Work, Education and Training, Housing.
