Job Title: Housing Management & Compliance Coordinator
Reports to: Youth Services Manager
Salary: Scale 6, Points 26-28, £26,229 - £27,982 per annum, pro rata
Hours of work: Full Time (37.5 hours per week)
Fixed Term Contract: 12 months
Key Responsibilities:
- Enable young people to sustain their tenancy and take responsibility for their property.
- Empower young people to report repairs and maintain cleanliness of their property.
- Assist young people in maximizing and retaining their income.
- Ensure voids meet lettable standards before letting, including cleaning and repairs.
- Help young people pay their rent and service charges.
- Assist with debt management or refer to specialist agencies as needed.
- Prepare weekly reports on arrears and actions taken.
- Safeguard the welfare of young people.
- Record rent and payments in line with financial procedures.
- Inform support staff of any needs or concerns for young people.
- Assist with benefit claims, including form completion and calls.
- Arrange and conduct admission visits and inductions for new residents.
- Support young people in maintaining their accommodation.
- Perform administrative tasks such as recording payments and health & safety inspections.
- Participate in initiatives to support young people and organization income.
- Work with support staff on tenancy breaches according to procedures.
- Be flexible with out-of-hours availability, including on-call duties and emergency cover.
Leading the Team:
- Contribute to a cohesive and effective team environment.
- Assist in induction, supervision, and performance management of staff and volunteers.
- Provide cover for colleagues and participate in on-call rotations, including weekends and anti-social hours.
- Lead and participate in team meetings.
- Advise management on concerns, changes, or additional services.
- Deputise for the Youth Services Manager when appropriate.
- Monitor service delivery, identify gaps, and recommend improvements.
- Support colleagues with respectful teamwork and communication.
Qualifications:
Essential:
- Housing Management qualification
- NVQ 4 Advice & Guidance, Care, or equivalent, or working towards Youth Work, Social Work, or equivalent
Role Experience:
Essential:
- Experience working with young people in youth work, residential, social work, probation, community work, education, training, or housing settings.
Desirable:
- Experience working with volunteers or students.
