Job summary

Harlow District Council is seeking a proactive Hazard Manager to join our Compliance Team on a 12-month agency contract. The role focuses on strengthening compliance oversight, monitoring housing hazards and delivering robust performance reporting across landlord safety obligations.

The post is based on site 3–4 days a week in Harlow, with a data‑driven remit that supports Awaab's Law readiness and wider consumer standards.

Qualifications

Excellent data analysis and reporting skills.
Ability to interpret complex information and turn into actions.
Experience building and managing performance trackers and dashboards.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Experience in housing, compliance, property services, or regulated environment.

Responsibilities

Developing and maintaining compliance dashboards, trackers and reporting tools.
Monitoring and reporting on housing hazards, damp and mould cases, and landlord compliance performance.
Tracking hazard identification, mitigation actions and completion performance.
Producing high-quality performance reports for operational managers, senior leaders and governance forums.
Using data to identify trends, emerging risks and service improvement opportunities.
Investigating complex compliance issues and recommending practical solutions.
Challenging existing processes and introducing innovative approaches to improve outcomes.
Supporting compliance assurance activities across key landlord responsibilities.
