Housing First Support Worker

LOCATION : Bristol

SALARY : £13.68 per hour PAYE + £1.65 Holiday Pay (£17.66 umbrella)

DURATION : Temp 6 weeks cover (potential of extension)

Hours : 37.5 – between 9am - 5pm

We’re looking for a compassionate and motivated Housing First Support Worker to join a dedicated team helping people across Bristol to sustain tenancies and rebuild their lives.

About the role

You’ll work with individuals who have experienced homelessness and multiple disadvantages, supporting them to maintain their homes and achieve their personal goals. Using a Psychological, Adversity and Trauma-Informed (PAT) approach, you’ll provide flexible, person-centred support in line with the principles of Housing First — that everyone has the right to a safe and stable home without preconditions.

Responsibilities
  • Building trusting relationships and delivering consistent, one-to-one support
  • Managing a caseload of clients, responding flexibly to their needs and aspirations
  • Advocating for clients and liaising with a range of agencies to remove barriers and improve access to services
  • Promoting inclusion, independence and recovery in all aspects of your work
  • Maintaining accurate records and contributing to service development and reporting
About you

You’ll bring experience of working with people with complex and multiple needs, such as homelessness, mental health challenges, substance use, or offending histories. You’ll be confident engaging people who may be reluctant to access services and skilled at building positive, trusting relationships.

  • Understanding of equality, diversity and safeguarding principlesAbility to travel across Bristol and work flexibly to meet clients’ needs
  • Experience in a Housing First or similar service is desirable
