Job summary

A leading organisation in the Midlands is seeking a Locum Housing Disrepair Lawyer for a predominantly remote role paying up to £50 per hour. The ideal candidate will manage various cases related to housing disrepair and must have relevant prior experience, particularly in local authority contexts. This is a full-time position with an initial contract lasting 3+ months.

Responsibilities

• Undertake all aspects of legal work relating to Housing Disrepair.
• Manage Housing Disrepair cases at all stages of Pre-Litigation/Litigation.
• Ensure compliance with the Housing Disrepair Pre-Action Protocol.
• Advise on management of risk on complex legal issues.
• Represent the Council in court and conduct advocacy.
• Negotiate and draft complex agreements and documents.

Position: Locum Housing Disrepair Lawyer

Organisation: Midlands

Duration: Initial 3+ months, rolling contract

Working Pattern: Predominantly Remote working

Working Arrangement: Full-time

Hourly Rate: Up to £50 per hour Umbrella

The ideal candidate will have prior experience working within a Local Authority and will have a broad working understanding of Housing Litigation and Disrepair matters to deal with a varied caseload.

Duties may include:

• Undertake all aspects of legal work relating to Housing Disrepair
• Manage Housing Disrepair cases at all stages of Pre-Litigation/Litigation
• Ensure compliance with the Housing Disrepair Pre-Action Protocol
• Advise on the management of risk on complex and contentious legal issues
• Represent the Council in court and Conduct advocacy where appropriate
• Negotiate and draft complex and sensitive agreements and documents in the area of Housing Disrepair and provide clear case strategy on cases
