A leading not-for-profit provider of Legal Aid housing advice is looking for an experienced caseworker ready to step into a supervisory role. If you’ve spent the past few years building up your expertise in housing law, this is a great opportunity to stretch into leadership while continuing to make a direct difference.

The Role

  • Oversee a small team delivering housing and housing debt advice
  • Carry your own caseload and represent clients in a variety of housing matters
  • Advise on possession, eviction, homelessness, ASB, and more.
  • Deliver advice in-person across the Derby, Tamworth, and Swadlincote offices
  • Work a hybrid pattern: typically 2 days at home, 1 in court, 2 in the office.
  • No formal advocacy experience required – just the confidence to negotiate and support clients at court.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of housing casework experience
  • Willing to undertake a short online supervisor course (fully funded).
  • Strong negotiation, legal research, and time management skills
  • Team leadership experience is desirable, but support and mentoring will be provided.

The Offer

  • Join a supportive and experienced legal team with a strong mentoring culture.
  • Real progression opportunities as the organisation continues to grow.
  • Encouragement and support for further qualifications and training contracts.
  • Meaningful, community-based work with a tangible impact.
  • 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Up to 5% pension contribution.
