Permanent Full time (37.5 hpw) - Night working

Pay £12.00 ph (Salary £23,464 pa) and great benefits including Health Cash Plan

Home, a place where you belong

Calling all night owls! Prefer staying awake and working through the night rather than snoozing away like the rest of us? We’re looking for a dedicated night worker who won’t fall asleep on the job! If you’re as energised as a new Duracell bunny with the alert skills of a meerkat, this is the job for you!

We’re looking for a new Supported Housing Concierge to join our growing teams. Here at Home Group, we look after our vulnerable customers, including those with complex care needs. Your job will be to ensure our customers are safe, our buildings are secure and pleasant, and that we maintain good relations with our neighbours.

Typical shift as a Housing Concierge

  • If you want a quiet and calm (night) security job, then this is not the job for you!
  • There is more involved than just night working or monitoring CCTV; you will be the first line of support for our customers when our wider team or their support network aren’t available.
  • You’ll manage the health and safety of the building, patrol to check fire doors, and ensure everything is locked and secure.
  • You’ll need to think quickly and manage situations on the spot, such as investigating suspicious activity or raising the alarm to engage emergency services.
  • If time permits, you’ll also help keep the premises clean and tidy, so be prepared to wield a mop or broom!

Would you like to go home each day knowing you’ve helped improve our customers’ lives? Join us and work for one of the top ten Great Places to Work in the UK!

You bring

  • Calmness under pressure with excellent communication skills
  • A passion for supporting vulnerable individuals (experience in public service or military is a plus)
  • Sociability, interest in people, and a keen eye for behavioural changes
  • Ability to recognize potential issues early and intervene sensitively
  • A team player who can also work independently, supported by our wider team including out-of-hours emergency support

Due to current sponsorship limitations, we cannot offer sponsorship to external candidates for this role. This is under regular review.

Our team

Looking for a place where you truly belong? Bring your unique skills and experience to deliver exceptional service for our customers. Join our diverse team, committed to supporting each other and making a difference!

Job details

  • Working hours are 9pm to 8am, 3 nights on, 3 nights off
  • You’ll participate in regular daytime training and team meetings
  • Ability to monitor CCTV, update records, and use email effectively
  • Understanding of homelessness and substance misuse issues
  • An Enhanced DBS check is required, which we will pay for

A place where you belong

We believe great things happen when everyone can be themselves at work. Our diversity networks and support systems help us all thrive. Together, we make Home Group a great place to work!

What’s in it for you?

  • 34 days of leave (including bank holidays and a personal day), increasing to 39 days, with options to buy more and time off for volunteering
  • Health cash plan saving you up to £1140 annually, covering dental, optical, prescriptions, and more
  • Over 800 discounts on shopping, holidays, and days out
  • Opportunities for career growth within the organization
  • Support for wellbeing and a positive work environment
