Home, a place where you belong

We’re looking for a new Supported Housing Concierge to join our growing team. Here at Home Group, we look after our vulnerable customers, including those with complex care needs. Your role will be to ensure our customers' safety, maintain secure and pleasant buildings, and foster good relations with our neighbours.

Typical shift as a Housing Concierge

  • More than just monitoring CCTV or patrolling; you will be the first support for our customers when our wider team or their support networks aren’t available.
  • Manage the health and safety of the building, including patrolling to check fire doors and security.
  • Respond promptly to situations such as suspicious activity or emergencies, raising alarms and engaging emergency services if needed.
  • Assist with maintaining cleanliness and tidiness, including duties like cleaning if required.

Feel good about your work each day, knowing you’re making a difference in our customers' lives. Join us at one of the UK’s top ten Great Places to Work!

You bring

  • Calmness under pressure and excellent communication skills
  • Experience supporting vulnerable individuals, possibly from public service or military backgrounds
  • Sociability, curiosity about people, and a keen eye for behavioral changes
  • Ability to recognize potential issues and intervene sensitively
  • Team spirit with confidence to work independently, supported by a wider team including out-of-hours emergency support

Note: Due to current sponsorship certificate limits, we cannot offer sponsorship to external candidates for this role. This policy is under regular review.

Our team

You’ll join Emma and the passionate housing team at The Sycamores, an over 55’s extra care service. We’re proud of our work and foster a supportive, fun environment!

Job details

  • Working Saturdays and Sundays on a 4-week rolling rota, between 8 am and 11 pm.
  • Although primarily lone working, we hold regular daytime training and team meetings.
  • Proficiency in monitoring CCTV and updating records using technology.
  • An Enhanced DBS check is required; we will cover the cost.

A place where you belong

We celebrate diversity and support all colleagues to be themselves through internal networks and allyship groups (Multicultural, LGBTQIA+, Disability). Together, we make Home Group a great place to work!

What’s in it for you?

  • 34 days leave (including bank holidays and a personal day), increasing to 39 days, with options to buy more and time off for volunteering.
  • Health Cash Plan saving you up to £1,140 annually on dental, optical, prescriptions, and more.
  • Over 800 discounts on groceries, holidays, and days out, plus savings on phones, bikes, and cars.
  • Opportunities for career growth within the organization.
  • Supportive environment promoting wellbeing and work-life balance.
