About The Role
The Caretaking Service is a fast paced, customer orientated service who take personal responsibility for all issues arising on our estates.
The Caretakers are responsible for ensuring internal and external communal areas on our council Estates ensuring they are tidy, litter free, clean, and safe, taking an active part in estate improvements and carrying out their tasks to a high standard they aim to meet or exceed the Councils objective for Cleaner Greener Estates.
The team work closely with the Housing Service, other internal departments, and external organisations to ensure that residents get the best service and opportunities to live independently and safely in their homes.
As you will be working in a customer facing role, excellent people skills are essential.
You will also need to be proficient in using a Smartphone, email, and other relevant digital tools and applications.
Experience of cleaning, preferably in a social housing setting, is desirable but not essential as full training will be given for the role.
Our current vacancies will require the applicant to be able to drive a company vehicle.

About The Team You’ll Be Working In
- To keep all communal areas clean and tidy following cleaning standards including colour coding.
- To understand and follow all the Health and Safety legislation.
- To use technology and equipment relevant to the role.
- To monitor cleaning product stock level and requestreplacements.

Basic DBS check is required for the role.
About You
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of our Estate Services Team as a Housing Caretaker.
In this role you would be responsible for ensuring internal and external communal areas on our Housing Estates are tidy, litter free, clean, and safe, taking an active part in estate improvements and carrying out their tasks to a high standard they aim to meet or exceed the Councils objective for Cleaner Greener Estates.
You will have the opportunity to develop your skills and undertake training to enhance your knowledge and experience in the wider housing department.
The role involves working as a Mobile Caretaker
- 36 hours a week (Monday – Friday)
