Job description

Shape Better Lives. Build Stronger Communities. Make a Lasting Impact.

Barcud is a forward-thinking, community-focused housing association serving Powys, Ceredigion, Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire. We manage over 4,000 homes, with a turnover exceeding £28 million and more than 300 dedicated staff.

As part of our succession planning, we're recruiting a Board Member and Co-optee to help shape our future. These are strategic roles, supporting our leadership team and ensuring strong governance, regulatory compliance, and financial oversight. You’ll help uphold our values, champion tenant voices, contribute to inclusive, risk-aware decision-making, and bring either prior board experience or senior leadership expertise.

Care & Repair in Powys, a Barcud subsidiary, enables older and disabled people to live safely and independently. We’re also recruiting a Chair and two Board Members to help guide this vital service.

As Chair, you’ll lead the Board, ensure clear strategic alignment, and represent the service across the Barcud Group. While previous board experience is expected, first-time Chairs are encouraged to apply.

As a Board Member, you’ll bring insight and a commitment to good governance. We welcome individuals seeking their first board role and those with lived or professional experience relevant to our work.

These are outstanding opportunities to make a real difference in housing and community wellbeing across Mid and West Wales.
