Job summary

A leading council in Scotland is seeking a dedicated Housing Assistant to support Housing Officers with customer interactions and housing services. This full-time temporary position offers a salary range of £26,553 to £27,958 per year. Ideal candidates will possess strong customer service and numerical skills along with knowledge in housing services. Experience using Microsoft Office and ability to manage difficult customer situations is essential. The role is temporary and subject to funding and business needs.

The Housing Assistant will support Housing Officers in the delivery of local housingservices including interviewing and advising customers on their housing prospects/needs; interviewing customers at point of tenancy sign-up and other key tenancy changes including termination of tenancy and maximising the income for the Council and minimise the amount of rent arrears.You must have relevant experience of dealing with the public in person and on the telephone; working with figures; and Microsoft Office packages.Knowledge of housing services including estate management and debt recovery, effective customer service and communication skills, numeracy skills; and the ability and confidence to deal with angry/upset customers is also required.You will be expected to use your initiative when making decisions; and work at other locations and/or work flexibly when required.
