Overview

36 hours per week, 52.14 weeks per year, fixed term until 31 October 2026

The opportunity has arisen for a 1-year fixed term position within West Lothian Council, Housing, Customer & Building Services for a Housing Assistant who is dynamic, self-motivated and enthusiastic to join our team. Responsibilities
  • You will be responsible and accountable for the implementation of all Housing Management policies and procedures and ensure compliance with current legislation, regulation and good practice.
  • You should be able to communicate well at all levels and have a working knowledge of providing assistance to tenants and their families who have complex needs who are experiencing difficulties in sustaining their tenancy for a variety of reasons.
  • Undertake an assessment of individual(s) housing need, providing advice and guidance on alternative housing options.
  • Ability to record and report information accurately and concisely both verbally and in writing.
Qualifications / Experience
  • Chartered Institute of Housing Level 2 or equivalent, and recent relevant experience of working in a frontline customer focused environment.
