Job description

Housing Assistant
An established charitable organisation is currently looking to recruit a Housing Assistant on a temporary to permanent contract. The main purpose of the role is to provide support and advice to clients to enable them to prepare for independent living.

*This role does not offer sponsorship*

Location: Islington
Duration: 3 months temporary to permanent
Hours: 35 hours - Monday to Friday 9-5
Salary: £15.50 per hour (PAYE inclusive of holiday)

Key responsibilities:
• Deliver a welcoming and efficient front-line service by carrying out reception duties, office administration, and key housing management functions—including accurate rent collection and record keeping
• Provide a responsive and customer-focused lettings service, supporting prospective and new tenants through every stage of the tenancy process
• Liaise effectively with tenants on housing management matters, ensuring prompt resolution of issues and maintaining positive tenant relationships
• Take timely and proportionate enforcement action to address anti-social behaviour, in line with the Association’s policies and procedures, promoting a safe and respectful community environment
• Uphold the terms of tenancy agreements by offering clear, accurate advice to tenants on their rights and responsibilities, and addressing any breaches with fairness and professionalism
• Offer practical welfare advice and guidance to residents, supporting them in maintaining benefit claims and signposting to relevant external services to ensure long-term stability and wellbeing

Additional Requirements:
