Job description

Our housekeeping team leaders are at the core of our teams and are integral to our guests' experience. They are kind and caring in nature with a keen eye for detail. They are organised and nurture their team so everyone around them flourishes.

Do you love nothing more than seeing a finished sparkling bedroom? Fresh ironed clean sheets on a beautifully made bed? Or towels stacked neatly in a pile, all soft and fluffy?

If this sounds like you, you could make a fantastic addition to our team here at the Bedruthan and Scarlet Hotel. It's not just about making beds; it’s about leaving our rooms ready so when our guests open their bedroom door, they know they can kick off their shoes, relax, and unwind.

No two days at our hotels are the same; however, your responsibilities will include:

  1. Organising daily work tasks, including room allocations across both hotels.
  2. Checking hotel accommodation after room attendants have cleaned, ensuring high standards are met and rooms are ready for guests.
  3. Checking communal areas are being cleaned to a very high standard, managing the ground floor cleaner to achieve this.
  4. Stock control and stock taking on a monthly basis.
  5. Following Health & Safety and COSHH guidelines.
  6. Reporting any maintenance issues through the correct process.
  7. Giving rooms back in the appropriate timeline, assisting room attendants to achieve this.
  8. Covering room attendant duties if the team requires it.
  9. Supporting the porters and laundry team in completing their daily duties.
  10. Understanding the room booking system.
  11. Attending meetings if asked to by housekeeping management.
  12. Effective communication with senior managers in housekeeping.
  13. Relaying relevant information to other teams.

We are looking for someone who:

  1. Has experience working in a similar role.
  2. Demonstrates a high level of attention to detail.
  3. Is self-motivated and organised.
  4. Has the ability to work in a team, as well as on their own.
  5. Communicates clearly and effectively.
  6. Has clear written and spoken English.
  7. Is energetic with a can-do attitude.

What we offer:

As a family-owned independent Cornish business, we value every member of our talented team, and we offer a range of benefits and perks to reflect our commitment to making our hotels a desirable place to work. These include:

  1. £28,121 per annum plus tips (40 hours).
  2. A people-centric working environment.
  3. Learning and internal career progression opportunities.
  4. A permanent contract with 28 days holiday per year (29 after 1 year).
  5. Long service scheme, enjoy a free stay at Bedruthan after your first year!
  6. 40% off food and drinks, along with a range of other services throughout the hotel with our own discount scheme!
  7. Local partnership discounts.
  8. Health Shield Healthcare Plan.
