An established NHS community service provider seeks a Full-Time Supervisor in Woking. This role involves supervising cleaning staff, ensuring compliance with health and safety guidelines, and maintaining high cleaning standards. Candidates should have experience in a healthcare environment, strong leadership skills, and be able to communicate effectively in English.
We are looking for a Full time supervisor to work Tuesday through to Saturday. Supervising and working alongside the team you will work a mixture of early ( 7am to 3 pm) shifts and late ( 11 am to 7 pm) shifts
This is a varied and rewarding role and the team work alongside colleagues in department and ward areas to ensure the Hospital is a safe and clean environment
Depending on start date, you may be paid on the 24/25scales with backdated pay being processed once the new pay scales come in toeffect.

You will provide day to day supervision and support to the team in order to provide a high quality and customer focused service. Provide ongoing and induction training to staff and ensure the team are following policy, guidance and work schedules.
You will work alongside the other supervisors to ensure the rota is adequately covered both for planned and unexpected absences. when necessary working with the team in order to get the job done.
You will ensure routine and ad hoc cleaning requests are met and that planned deep cleans take place. You will undertake audits to ensure high cleaning standards are maintained. You must be able to plan, motivate and be responsive to situations as they occur

Principalduties to include
This list isintended to summarise key responsibilities and is not exhaustive.
1.To provide effective supervision of Hotel Servicesstaff, in order to deliver the cleaning service to the required standard.Ensure their welfare needs are being met
2.Support Hotel Services Supervisor with the staffrotas, to ensure the service is adequately covered. Maintain staff records withregards to training, leave, sickness and ESR
3.Ensure cleaning schedules are being followed andrecords accurately kept of cleaning undertaken, curtain changing, deep cleans,water flushing etc
4.Make sure staff are wearing the correct uniform andusing appropriate PPE in accordance with IPC guidelines and method statements
5.Ensure cleaning chemicals are ordered, stored andcorrectly used in accordance with COSHH guidelines. Cleaning cupboards shouldbe stocked, tidy and contain up to date method cards, risk assessments andCOSHH folders. Monitor and control stock in the main store to agreed stocklevels. Ensure no excessive ordering or stockpiling
6.Audit cleaning standards using Micad audit tool.Undertake technical audits to make sure correct cleaning procedures, equipmentand procedures are being used. Undertake face to face patient audits relatingto cleaning and food.
7.Work alongside staff to assist and support in thedelivery of the cleaning service. This is a working supervisor position andthere will be a requirement to work shifts at times of staff shortages.
8.Provide induction training for new members ofstaff. Ensure team are compliant with statutory and mandatory training andsupport them if required with completing on line training. Maintain owntraining and attend courses and meetings relevant to the role
9.Report any equipment failures, breakage or ITissues in accordance with local procedures
10.Report any incidents on the Datix system
11.Be able to deal in the first instance with anystaff issues. Refer to Hotel Services Supervisor/ Hotel Services Manager asappropriate. Support the staff in development and assist with the annualappraisals
12.Be very flexible in your approach. Step in andcover shifts within the housekeeping and wider Hotel Services team (cateringand portering) to help with staffing shortfalls, if required.
13.The role can be physically demanding, and staffwill spend most of their shift walking or standing. Some lifting and handlingof goods will be required as well as use of cleaning machine
14.To act as advised in accordance with statutoryregulations relating to Health and Safety, COSHH, Fire Safety, Manual Handling,Food Safety, Infection Control Policy and NHS Guidance.
15.To attend training sessions and follow Departmentand Trust Policies and Procedures.
16.To be able to communicate with service usersregarding provision of service.
