Job summary

Select Appointments is seeking an experienced Housekeeping Supervisor to join one of Cambridge’s prestigious colleges on a temporary basis. The role focuses on maintaining historic accommodation, dining spaces, and facilities to a very high standard.

You will supervise the housekeeping team, manage daily rotas, room allocations, and inspections of student rooms, guest accommodation, and common areas, while ensuring COSHH and safety standards are met.

• Proven experience in housekeeping supervisory or team leader roles.
• Flexibility to work 37.5 hours per week, including occasional weekends.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Team Supervision: Guide, support, and inspect the work of the housekeeping team to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
• Daily Operations: Assist with room allocations, daily rotas, and ensuring turnarounds are completed efficiently.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct regular inspections of student rooms, guest accommodation, and common areas.
• Inventory & Supplies: Help monitor linen, cleaning chemicals, and equipment stock levels.
• Health & Safety: Ensure all team members adhere to COSHH standards and safe working practices.

What We’re Looking For:

• Proven experience in a housekeeping supervisory or team leader role (hospitality or higher education experience is a plus).
• Flexibility to work 37.5 hours per week, including occasional weekends during peak periods.
• Strong eye for detail and high standard of delivery.
• Great communication skills and an approachable leadership style.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and adapt to daily college demands.
