Job Description
- Supervise and manage the daily operations of the housekeeping department, including room cleaning, laundry, public area maintenance, and inventory control.
- Manage a team of 6 staff members.
- Train, motivate, and oversee housekeeping staff, including attendants, housemen, and laundry personnel.
- Establish and enforce cleanliness standards and procedures to uphold the facility's reputation for cleanliness and quality.
- Create and implement housekeeping schedules to ensure adequate coverage at all times.
- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities to ensure they meet cleanliness and safety standards.
- Handle guest complaints and requests related to housekeeping promptly and professionally.
- Manage inventory of cleaning supplies, linens, and amenities to maintain stock levels and control costs.
- Assist in budget planning and monitor departmental expenses to meet financial targets.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations, and stay informed of emergency procedures.
- Collaborate with other departments such as front desk and maintenance to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction.
- Prepare reports on departmental performance, employee progress, and issues requiring attention.
- Participate in recruitment, performance management, and employee evaluation processes.
The Successful Applicant
- 3-5 years of experience in housekeeping or facilities management, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and safety procedures.
