Housekeeping Assistant (Part-Time, 6am – 9am Saturdays & Sundays)

Darwin College is seeking to appoint a Housekeeping Assistant who will be responsible for keeping the College buildings to the highest cleaning standard in a safe and organised environment.

This role will be commencing on the week of 21 st July 2025.

Key Responsibilities:

• Early morning cleaning of the college café, bar area, toilets, and staff facilities.
• Following health and safety regulations and college cleaning standards.
• Pro-actively reporting any issues or maintenance needs.

Requirements:

• Previous cleaning experience is essential, especially the safe use of cleaning products and equipment.
• Must be dependable and able to work independently.
• Physically fit, as the job involves walking between buildings, using stairs, and doing active cleaning tasks throughout the shift
• Flexible and willing to support the team when cover is needed or tasks change during the day.
• Good attention to detail and time management.
• Due to the early start punctuality and reliability are essential.

Work Location: Darwin College, Silver Street, Cambridge and surrounding college properties.

Pay: £18.43 per hour (Based on 1 ½ times the basic hourly rate)

Contractual Hours: 6 hours per week, 6 am – 9 am Saturday & Sunday
