Qualifications

• Knowledge of health and safety, food hygiene, COSHH, infection control and relevant regulations.
• Ability to comply with Health and Safety legislation and correct PPE use.
• Commitment to keeping wards and departments tidy and presentable.

Responsibilities

• Ensure health and safety and related regulations are adhered to.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation and PPE usage.
• Keep wards/departments tidy and free of excessive refuse.
• Remove and re-hang curtains, bag and label for transport or disposal.
• Report maintenance issues and hazards to Team Leader or Supervisor.
• Comply with hygiene policies and procedures.
• Prepare cutlery, crockery and trays for patient meals and clean after use.
• Wash and replenish water jugs and clean patient tables after meals.
• Maintain ward kitchen cleanliness before, during, and after meals.
• Serve patient beverages and snacks and maintain ward kitchen cleanliness.
• Monitor refrigerator temperatures and defrost when required.
• Maintain patient confidentiality.
• Demonstrate flexibility to adapt to changing service needs.

Job description

We currently have full-time and part-time vacancies for Housekeeping Assistants. The role is to provide an effective and efficient cleaning & food service within the wards and departments. To ensure the highest standards of service at all times.,

• To ensure all aspects of health and safety, food hygiene, COSHH, Infection Control and relevant regulations are strictly adhered to.
• To ensure compliance with all aspects of Health and Safety legislation and the correct use of personal protective equipment.
• To ensure wards and departments are maintained free from excessive refuse and kept tidy and presentable at all times.
• To remove and re-hang curtains, ensuring curtains are correctly bagged and labelled for transport to the Laundry area or disposed of appropriately.
• To report all maintenance issues and hazards to your Team Leader or the Housekeeping Supervisor.
• To comply with departmental & Trust personal hygiene policy/procedures at all times.
• To prepare cutlery, crockery and trays ready for patient meal times, collect, wash and put away all cutlery, crockery and trays after patient meal times.
• To wash and replenish all water jugs, clean patient tables after each service and if required during the day.
• To maintain the cleanliness of the ward kitchen before, during and after patient meal service.
• To serve the patient beverage service including snacks as required and ensure the ward kitchen is clean, items in date and stock rotated.
• To monitor/ record refrigerator temperatures and defrost refrigerators as and when required.
• Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing service needs when required.
