Job summary

Bupa is seeking a Housekeeping Assistant at Richmond Villages Painswick, Stroud Road, Gloucestershire. This part-time role offers 25 hours per week with flexible shift patterns (9am–2pm or 9:30am–2:30pm) and a pay of £12.90 per hour, plus paid breaks and Bupa benefits.

Responsibilities include maintaining high cleaning standards across care home facilities and public areas, operating cleaning equipment, and ensuring safety and COSHH compliance. Experience in housekeeping is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in housekeeping or domestic cleaning.
• Basic understanding of infection control and COSHH.
• Ability to work with others and maintain cleanliness standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain residents' care home facilities, public areas and rooms to high cleaning standards.
• Operate vacuum cleaners, floor polishers and carpet shampooers.
• Empty bins regularly and clean floors.
• Clean carpets, upholstery, woodwork, windows and sills.
• Launder residents clothing and bedding as needed.
• Report safety hazards and adhere to Health and Safety and COSHH requirements.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring that our residents’ care home facilities, public areas and individual properties are maintained to the highest cleaning standards
• Operating vacuum cleaners, floor polishers and carpet shampooers
• Emptying bins regularly
• Sweeping, scrubbing, waxing and polishing floors
• Cleaning carpets and upholstery and washing woodwork, windows, door panels and sills
• Washing, drying and ironing residents clothing, bedding and communal laundry, including for our on-site care home residents
• Reporting all safety hazards to management, ensuring Health and Safety standards and COSSH are adhered to at all times.

Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role: You will ideally bring experience from a housekeeping or domestic cleaning role, along with a basic understanding of infection control, COSHH, and compliance standards. As someone who is friendly and approachable, you will forge enduring professional relationships with colleagues, residents, and their families. Recognizing the importance of a safe working environment, you possess a meticulous attention to detail and take pride in your work. Equipped with strong communication skills, you are adept at collaborating as part of a team, across various functions and services.
