Tenterden House Care Home in Bricket Wood, St Albans is hiring a Housekeeping Assistant. You will be part of a friendly team ensuring spotless communal areas and residents’ rooms, while supporting a welcoming home environment for residents and families.

About Tenterden House Care Home:

Tenterden House provides long and short-stay residential and nursing care. From Parkinson's, cerebral palsy, MS and other complex and long term conditions, Tenterden House offers care for older people with a wide range of care needs.

Set in 13-acres of beautiful gardens, the home has been skilfully converted to meet residents' needs without sacrificing any of its Victorian charm. The home offers a warm and homely environment. The home benefits from lots of communal space, indoor and outside space for residents and relatives to enjoy.

Care packages are regularly assessed for developing needs and tailored to palliative, convalescence and respite needs. Working closely with the local hospital, the home also offers a rehabilitation pathway to help improve mobility and independence with visiting occupational therapists and physiotherapists.

They go the extra mile to help residents enjoy their time here. From helping a resident who previously had a stroke to complete a marathon, to putting on social events with their neighbouring Bupa care home, Allington Court.

You’ll help us make health happen by:

• You'll be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness within the home, working closely with our other housekeeping and maintenance staff
• Always ensuring our residents are kept happy, you will vacuum, mop floors, polish and generally ensure the up-keep of all communal areas and our resident's bedrooms
• You'll maintain housekeeping stocks for day to day use and raise any issues to the Housekeeping Supervisor as you go

Key Skills / Qualifications:

You take pride in ensuring your work is always completed to a high standard and can maintain an organised environment. Often managing multiple requests at once, you'll be comfortable multitasking and where necessary, working with other teams to ensure our residents are kept happy in their home.
