Richmond Villages Painswick is seeking a Housekeeping Assistant to join our care home team. The role involves maintaining cleaning standards in facilities and resident areas, using vacuum cleaners, polishers and carpet shampooers to keep spaces sparkling. You will support laundry tasks and uphold health and safety practices across the site.

Permanent, 40 hours per week, with shift patterns of 8 hours over 5 days and alternate weekends. The position offers paid breaks and benefits through Bupa.

Competenze

• Experience in housekeeping or domestic cleaning.
• Basic infection control knowledge and COSHH understanding.

Mansioni

• Maintain residents' care home facilities, public areas and personal spaces to high cleaning standards.
• Operate vacuum cleaners, floor polishers and carpet shampooers.
• Empty bins regularly and sweep, scrub, wax and polish floors.
• Clean carpets, upholstery, woodwork, windows and fittings.
• Wash, dry and iron residents' clothing and communal laundry as needed.

You’ll Help Us Make Health Happen By

• Ensuring that our residents’ care home facilities, public areas and individual properties are maintained to the highest cleaning standards
• Operating vacuum cleaners, floor polishers and carpet shampooers
• Emptying bins regularly
• Sweeping, scrubbing, waxing and polishing floors
• Cleaning carpets and upholstery and washing woodwork, windows, door panels and sills
• Washing, drying and ironing residents clothing, bedding and communal laundry, including for our on‑site care home residents
• Reporting all safety hazards to management, ensuring Health and Safety standards and COSSH are adhered to at all times.

Key Skills / Qualifications Needed For This Role

You will ideally bring experience from a housekeeping or domestic cleaning role, along with a basic understanding of infection control, COSHH, and compliance standards. As someone who is friendly and approachable, you will forge enduring professional relationships with colleagues, residents, and their families. Recognizing the importance of a safe working environment, you possess a meticulous attention to detail and take pride in your work. Equipped with strong communication skills, you are adept at collaborating as part of a team, across various functions and services.
