Job summary

Avery Healthcare is looking for a warm, enthusiastic Housekeeping Assistant to join the team at Braintree Mews Care Home in Braintree. You will work as part of a team to maintain cleanliness and laundry standards across the home, following our housekeeping procedures and delivering hotel-style service to residents.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of health and safety, experience cleaning laundry in a public setting, and the flexibility to cover various duties at short notice.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Health and Safety, especially Moving and Handling, Fire Safety and COSHH.
• Experience cleaning laundry in a public setting.
• Compassion and commitment to high-quality housekeeping/laundry for residents.
• Flexibility to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out all cleaning duties in accordance with worksheet instructions.
• Understanding cleaning requirements of surfaces and coverings and keeping areas well presented.
• Ensuring residents are treated with dignity and respect and personal space is respected.

Job description

Your focus as Housekeeping Assistant will be to work as part of a team, ensuring that all standards of cleanliness and laundry are maintained in the home. You will operate according to our standard operating procedures for housekeeping and laundry, ensuring that hotel service standards are maintained. Other responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out all cleaning duties in accordance with worksheet instructions.
• Understanding the cleaning requirements of different surfaces and coverings and the properties of cleaning materials, ensuring that all areas are well presented and maintained in good condition.
• Ensuring that all residents are treated with dignity and respect and that their personal space and belongings are always respected.
