Job summary

Hutchinson Care Homes in Northern Ireland is seeking a dedicated cleaner to support our care home teams. You will uphold infection control standards, manage cleaning duties, and assist with stock control and record keeping. Flexibility to cover other homes is required.

We offer training from day one, onsite sessions, and opportunities for NVQ progression. A pension, private health insurance after three years, and a free uniform are included in the package.

Qualifications

• At least six months experience working with patients within a Care Home Setting.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of basic cleaning equipment and materials.
• Ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Comply with Infection Control Procedures and Personal Protective Equipment.
• You may be required to work in other homes in the business at short notice to assist with staffing levels.
• To ensure cleaning of all areas of the home are to the highest standard.
• To organise deep cleaning duties when required.
• Complete documentation as and when required.
• Ensure cleaning and laundry supplies are stored safely and used effectively to minimise wastage.
• Attend all necessary training.
• Participate in any other duties detailed by management that may be considered relevant.
• Report and record any breaks or damages to your Manager/or Deputy Manager.
• Demonstrate a positive attitude when carrying out duties and be willing to put in an extra effort if an unexpected situation arrives.
• Promote good housekeeping, in respect of health and safety and ensure that there is no neglect of property and ensuring a well maintained area of care.
• Keep all cleaning store rooms neat and tidy as well as ensuring there is enough stock.
• Order stock as and when required keeping in mind costs and budgets.
• To attend staff meetings as and when required.
• Maintain confidentiality at all times.
