Job description

We are currently recruiting for a part-time Housekeeper to provide general cleaning and housekeeping duties at the Hospital, helping to maintain a safe and healthy environment for our service users. You will be working 20 hours a week on a rota basis, including every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday).

Main duties of the job

Cygnet Hospital Maidstone is a state-of-the-art, 63-bed mental health facility for adults, situated in the Kent Medical Campus in Maidstone. The hospital is purpose-built to meet the latest national standards for improving mental health within a therapeutic environment. It provides an essential service for local patients from Kent.

Cygnet was established in 1988. Since then, we have developed a wide range of health and social care services for young people and adults with mental health needs, acquired brain injuries, eating disorders, autism, and learning disabilities across the UK.

Job responsibilities
  • Ensure the site maintains a high level of cleanliness
  • Carry out daily and weekly cleaning routines
  • Maintain and replenish stock; ensure equipment is clean and well-maintained
  • Employ safe working practices and adhere to health and safety procedures
  • Comply with Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations
We're looking for people who have:
  • Experience in cleaning, housekeeping, or domestic work (desirable)
  • Knowledge of COSHH (desirable)
  • Friendly, conscientious, and positive attitude
