Housekeeping Assistant (Nights Only)
Contract Type: Permanent
Working Hours: 27.5 hours per week, working shifts between the hours of 8.00pm and 8.00am including some weekend work
Location: KIMS Hospital, Maidstone

About the Role
KIMS Hospital is the largest independent hospital in Kent, and we are looking to recruit a Housekeeping Assistant to join our friendly and hardworking Guest Services team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who takes pride in delivering high standards and wants to play a key part in providing a clean, safe and welcoming environment for our patients, visitors and colleagues.

As a Housekeeping Assistant working nights, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of patient rooms, bathrooms, offices and communal areas. You will be part of a dedicated team ensuring that hygiene standards are upheld across all areas of the hospital, in line with infection prevention guidelines.

Role Responsibilities

  • Provide a high-quality housekeeping service to patient rooms, bathrooms and communal areas, ensuring excellent standards of cleanliness and hygiene are achieved and maintained
  • Support the wider Guest Services team in delivering an exceptional patient experience across all hospital departments
  • Work in accordance with infection control protocols, especially in clinical areas
  • Ensure cleaning materials are used and stored safely, in line with COSHH regulations

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience in a similar environment
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic knowledge of COSHH and its application within a clinical setting
  • A flexible, can-do attitude with the ability to adapt to the needs of the department
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and independently when required

It’s an excellent way of showing genuine interest.

It’s important to leave the interview on a positive note. If you haven’t already discussed it, you may want to ask when you can expect to hear about their final decision. When it is time to leave, smile and thank them for seeing you. Shake hands firmly and confidently, and if you have enjoyed discussing the job, tell them.
