Pets: One large friendly dog, may be getting another later in the year

Salary: £50,000 to £55,000 gross per annum

Start Date: November

Hours Required: Monday to Friday 7.15qm to 6.30pm

Driver: Yes, car provided for use on duty

Accommodation: Separate one bedroom apartment (Rooms consist of - Bedroom, bathroom, living room and kitchen.) All utilities paid for

Summary

A warm, welcoming family based in Cobham, Surrey is seeking an experienced Housekeeper Nanny to join their household. This is a 50% housekeeping, 50% childcare position, with flexibility required during times when either parent is travelling or working late. The family is open to both live-in and live-out arrangements. The role is Monday to Friday, with occasional overnight care (approximately 10-20 nights per year) and one evening babysit or sports club collection if needed. This is a wonderful opportunity for a professional, organised individual who enjoys both domestic work and supporting school‑aged children.

Key Responsibilities

Housekeeping Duties (approx. 50%)

  • Daily cleaning, tidying, and laundry, including regular deep cleans
  • Family laundry and ironing
  • Change bed linen weekly or bi‑weekly
  • Prepare healthy family meals for children and batch cook for the freezer
  • Run household errands including food shopping, dry cleaning, and gift organisation
  • Provide occasional dog care (drop-off/pick-up) and house/dog sitting during holidays (approx. 2-3 weeks annually, by agreement)
  • Assist with light household admin (e.g. car servicing, travel arrangements)
  • Maintain a calm, welcoming, and well‑organised home environment

Childcare Duties (approx. 50%)

  • School drop‑offs and collections
  • Sole charge of children in the afternoons, and during school holidays or illness
  • Supervise homework and after-school routines
  • Take children to and from after-school clubs and activities
  • Manage uniforms, PE kits, and term schedules
  • Support diary management, school events, and holiday camp bookings

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a combined housekeeper nanny or family assistant role
  • Strong childcare skills with the ability to take sole charge confidently
  • High standard of housekeeping, laundry care, and family cooking
  • Confident driver with a clean UK driving licence
  • Excellent spoken and written English
  • Proactive, flexible, and capable of managing changing schedules
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain) and verifiable references
  • Pet‑friendly and comfortable with occasional overnight stays
