Nanny / Housekeeper Job Edinburgh

Greycoat Lumley’s client are seeking a Nanny/Housekeeper for their family based in the Grange, Edinburgh. The family have 3 children from primary school age to a teenager.

They family are friendly and are looking for someone with a positive attitude who likes to work hard but can also laugh and have fun. The family also have a friendly medium sized dog that applicants must be comfortable with.

This role will be approx.50% childcare and 50% housekeeping tasks.

This role will grow and change as the family’s needs change, therefore the client is seeking a candidate looking for a long term role.

Duties include:

• Looking after the 2 year old - taking out to classes, park and on playdates
• Occasional school pick ups (short journey by bus)
• Support with packing school bags for the next day and packing lunch boxes
• Generally keeping the kids toys and clothes in order – encouraging the children to tidy up themselves
• Wash and iron children’s clothes – have school uniforms ready
• Make simple meals for the children when required
• Support homework with the older children
• General indoor and outdoor play with the children at home
• Take the children to the park, museums, or to fun activities in the city on the bus
• Keep the house neat and tidy
• Cleaning to include- Vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, dusting and bathrooms and kitchens. Making beds, changing linens, taking out rubbish
• Walk the dog
• Planning meals, ordering, receiving and unpacking shopping
• Simple cooking and making snacks
• Laundry and ironing, neatly organising and put away clothes (the children’s are priority)
• Keeping and encouraging the older children to keep their rooms cleaning and tidy
• Run errands when required - going to the shop to pick up milk, post items etc.
• Occasional family travel support (subject to your availability and paid additionally)
• Occasional evening babysitting (paid additionally)

Hours: 40 hours 8am – 6pm Monday to Thursday (with flexibility depending on work and children’s schedules)

Salary: £15 to £20 per hour
