Job summary

East and North Hertfordshire Teaching NHS Trust is seeking a Housekeeper - Maternity to support patient care by maintaining clean, safe and welcoming wards and kitchens. We are recruiting for a Housekeeper - Maternity who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.


Main duties of the job


  • You will serve the meals and drinks to our patients throughout the shift.

  • Do ordering and stocking up of the wards products.

  • Ensure kitchen is cleaned and efficient running.

  • Communicate with the patients and relatives of their nutritional needs.

Essential criteria


  • Clear and polite telephone and verbal communications.

  • Ability to work closely with all grades of staff.

  • Dealing with enquiries/complaints

  • Adaptability, ability to prioritise work, especially under pressure.

Desirable criteria


  • Previous employment within the NHS within a hospital environment or hotel industry.

  • Training in food hygiene

  • Training in cleaning standards/small maintenance tasks.
