The Role

We are currently seeking a dynamic and results-driven Housekeeper Manager. The role is to oversee and manage all aspects of the Hall and Estates cleaning services, ensuring exceptional guest experiences and efficient cleaning operations within the hotel and the Hall area. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and a customer-centric approach.

The primary goal will be to cohesively bring together all housekeeping services across all areas and departments of the Estate. The role involves maintaining service standards in line with financial controls and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities Include But Not Limited To

  • Supervise and manage a team of housekeeping staff, providing guidance and support for efficient operations.
  • Implement and enforce hall policies and procedures related to housekeeping and services. Identify health and safety issues, including fire hazards, within the hotel area, resolving them where possible or escalating as appropriate.
  • Train and motivate team members to provide excellent cleaning services and ensure adherence to policies and safety protocols.
  • Support recruitment of staff in this area, in collaboration with the HR department, and oversee induction, training, appraisal, and disciplinary procedures.
  • Allocate tasks and monitor workloads to promote staff development.

Location

Madingley Hall is part of the Institute of Continuing Education at the University of Cambridge. Built in the 16th century, it features 16 meeting rooms, 62 ensuite bedrooms, a professional kitchen, licensed bar, coffee shop, and rentable short-stay accommodation, set within 8 acres of grounds including Capability Brown-designed gardens.
