Job Overview

SaxaVord Spaceport in Shetland is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Rotational General Steward. The role involves providing exceptional customer service across the hospitality function at the accommodation facility, ensuring all areas are clean, well-maintained, and offer an outstanding experience for staff, clients, and visitors. You will perform general cleaning duties, serve food, handle guest inquiries, and assist with various tasks that contribute to the smooth running of SaxaVord Spaceport's accommodation facilities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Carry out a variety of housekeeping tasks to ensure accommodation facilities meet high standards.
2. Assist with serving and clearing breakfasts and dinners.
3. Assist the duty chef in preparing food as required.
4. Respond to customer inquiries and assist with requests professionally to ensure a positive guest experience.
5. Report safety hazards or potential issues to management promptly.
6. Maintain a friendly and positive attitude when interacting with guests and the team.

What We're Looking For

1. Proven experience in a similar role within a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
2. Good team and interpersonal skills.
3. Common sense and the ability to use initiative.
4. A passion for high standards and a keen eye for detail.
5. Good knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards (full training provided).
6. Flexibility and adaptability to work in a rotational, remote location.
7. A positive, proactive attitude and strong communication skills.
8. Previous experience in remote or specialized locations is a plus.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, And Experience

1. This role suits those working at Level 4 - Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework.
2. Previous experience in a similar role is highly desirable.
3. Recognized food hygiene certification is highly desirable.
4. Experience in bar work or serving alcohol is desirable.
5. Experience working in a dynamic environment with changing priorities is highly desirable.
