A busy family in St Helens Merseyside are looking for a Housekeeper to help care for their beautiful home.
The family comprises a lovely, friendly couple with 6 children and a nanny. Both parents work long hours due to their demanding careers. The family home is a large, 5-bedroom detached house set in its own grounds with 3 bathrooms.
You should be confident with all housekeeping duties and able to maintain the home to a high standard. Responsibilities include household upkeep, tidiness, laundry, ironing, unpacking groceries, running errands (such as post office returns), wardrobe organization, changing beds, dusting, emptying the dishwasher and waste, and managing grocery stock. The family has a cleaner who attends three times a week. Computer literacy is required for occasional PA/admin duties.
The role involves managing the home, ensuring the kitchen is stocked and organized. A positive, can-do attitude is essential. You should be comfortable following instructions in a busy household, motivated, and capable of working independently or alongside other staff. You will share duties with another housekeeper.
Running errands like grocery shopping, visiting the post office or dry cleaners, and welcoming contractors (e.g., window cleaners, maintenance personnel) are part of the role.
The house is in St Helens, Merseyside. This is a live-out role.
The hours are Monday to Friday, 9am - 5:30pm (including a 1-hour lunch break). The schedule alternates weekly: Monday, Tuesday, half-day Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and half-day Saturday.
Total weekly hours: 34. Flexibility to work extra hours or weekends occasionally, with prior agreement, is appreciated.
You must speak good English to communicate effectively with the family.
Experience working as a housekeeper in a private household for at least 2 years is required. Attention to detail, a warm, positive attitude, and good experience in large family homes or estates are essential.
