Job Description:

We are Recruiting for a Housekeeper on a 12 Month Temporary contract to cover Maternity Leave. Do you have some Housekeeping experience working within a clinical environment, good communication skills and can work as part of a team?

Join our dedicated, flexible housekeeping team, working between both sites (addresses below), and working within a clinical environment, carrying out deep cleans, and general cleans in all areas of the hospice to a very high standard of cleanliness and infection control. Other cleaning duties include some offices, laundry and stores.

Adult Services: Barlaston Road, Blurton, Stoke-on-Trent, ST3 3NZ

The role will require a DBS check - which would be processed and paid for by the Hospice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To clean areas and equipment in accordance with cleaning schedules, following set standards as affirmed by Facilities.
  • To report any breakdown of equipment or machinery to the Facilities Manager.
  • To be responsible for the laundering service, when required.
  • To identify personal training needs and participate in In-Service education.
  • To be multi-skilled and work in any other Ancillary department sections as required by the Facilities Manager.
  • To comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act.
  • To ensure patient confidentiality is maintained at all times.
  • To record information as required by the Infection Control Policy.

This is a fixed term position for 12 months.

Salary: £19,099.98 per annum (£12.21 per hour)

Hours: 30 hours a week (5 over 7 days a week)

You will work to a 3 week rolling rota - which includes 1 in 3 weekends.

Morning shifts are between 7.00am-1.30pm -Afternoon shifts are between 12.30 -7.00pm

Weekend shifts are between 7.00am and 4.00pm.
