Role Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Emergency Department Housekeeper to support the clinical team. The role involves coordinating all patient facilities services in the ward area to ensure a clean, safe, and comfortable environment, including topping up both clinical and non-clinical supplies.

The ideal candidate will need to have a desire to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment alongside a large caring team. It is essential to have a positive outlook, excellent communication skills, and the ability to inspire and motivate others.

The work can be challenging; however, staff will develop both professionally and personally whilst working in the department. A culture of excellence, patient care, and staff development is central to our work.

We have recently completed a major rebuild project, which includes a state-of-the-art department with an 8-bed Resus room, 15-bed Majors area, a minors area, and a dedicated Children’s Emergency Department. A housekeeper is essential to support the team in maintaining the department to ensure patient safety and experience.

Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week. Regular shift pattern 8 am - 4 pm, Monday to Friday.

Pay: The salary reflects the Agenda for Change 2025/6 rates, including a 3.6% pay award to be implemented later this year. If you join before this date, the pay award will be backdated to your start date. Until then, remuneration is based on the 2024/5 pay bandings (Pay scales for 2024/25 | NHS Employers).
