Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a committed and dedicated individual to join our highly specialised, busy Critical Care Complex at the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital.

The Critical Care Complex is a busy 28 bedded unit, and we need our Housekeeper team to ensure our standards are maintained throughout our three Critical Care areas.

The post holder will be responsible for the day to day replenishment and cleaning of all areas within Critical Care to enable the best patient care and support for our nursing and multi-disciplinary teams.

They will work closely with our Stores Manager ensuring we have adequate stock levels for all of our patients, often during ever changing workloads.

The successful candidate should be able to work autonomously, managing their own workload to ensure the continuation of patient care in the Critical Care Complex.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Establish and maintain a working rapport with nursing, medical, technical, ancillary and administration colleagues.
  2. Help with cleaning and maintain tidiness in all areas.
  3. Assist with the cleaning of all equipment and quality testing of specialised equipment.
  4. To be responsible for the maintenance of equipment at ward level, reporting and ensuring accurate records are kept and equipment retrieved and returned as necessary.
  5. To check linen allocation daily, report any problems to the Ward Coordinator and liaise with the linen room to rectify problems. Ensure dirty linen is bagged and disposed of correctly.
