Job summary

Spark of Genius in Scotland is seeking a caring and well-organised Housekeeper/Cook for a children’s residential home. You’ll maintain high cleanliness standards and prepare nutritious meals to support health and wellbeing.

The role is Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm (35 hours per week) with a starting salary of £23,933. Benefits include a Welcome Bonus, refer-a-friend scheme, free meals on shift, and DBS/PVG clearance arranged by the employer.

Qualifications

• Experience in a catering or housekeeping environment.
• Knowledge of food hygiene practices and willingness to maintain high standards.
• Good communication and team-oriented approach.
• Flexible, organised and reliable with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook balanced meals and snacks for residents with dietary needs.
• Maintain food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness to high standards.
• Store, label and rotate food safely; plan menus within budgets.
• Complete kitchen logs and monitor temperatures; assist with deep cleans as needed.
