Job summary
Housekeepers are responsible for providing and maintaining cleaning and catering services as part of the Hotel Services team to clinical and communal areas within the Trust, ensuring a clean, safe and supportive environment for patients working towards their recovery, staff and visitors.
You will need to be passionate and enthusiastic about patient care. You will work in a multi-professional team, using your initiative and aiming for continuous improvement within the NHS.
You must have the Right to Work in the UK. Please note, this role does not qualify for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker visa.
Main duties of the job
We seek friendly, positive, organized, and motivated individuals to work as part-time Housekeepers (15 hours) within the Trust's Hotel Services Team.
The post is based at Foss Park Hospital in York, with shifts between 10 am and 6 pm, on Saturdays and Sundays.
Experience in cleaning, chemicals, and equipment is essential. Catering and food service experience are beneficial, along with a passion for high customer service standards.
Experience working or volunteering in mental health and learning disabilities is essential. Candidates should possess Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2 or work towards it.
Qualifications include Numeracy, Literacy, and ITQ Level 2 (equivalent to GCSE grades 9-4). NVQ Level 2 Housekeeping is desirable. Commitment to further training is expected.
