Job summary

Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a compassionate ward assistant to support meals and drinks for patients on a busy ward, helping monitor nutrition and hydration and uphold health and safety standards.

The post holder will assist with kitchen cleanliness, fridge temperature checks, stock replenishment, and will work under pressure to meet strict time frames. The service may transfer to another NHS trust in future; applicants from all backgrounds are welcome.

Someone who is responsible, reliable, understands what good customer service is, and will maintain good health and Safety standards.

The successful applicant will have to cope with pressure and working to strict time frames.

The Vascular Service is currently provided by Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust. There is potential for the service to transfer to Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust in the future, subject to relevant approvals. Should this occur, employees assigned to the service are expected to transfer in accordance with TUPE regulations. Further information will be provided at interview.

Main duties of the job

Individual to support the ward with serving meals and drinks to patients on a busy ward environment throughout the day and supporting staff to monitor nutrition and hydration. Individual will be responsible to cleaning and monitor kitchen areas on the ward and and making sure fridge temperatures are taken and recorded accurately. Supporting ward staff to maintain patient safety; ensuring stock ordering and replenishment.
