Job summary

UHNM NHS Trust is seeking motivated individuals to support ward services, maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and visitors, and coordinate patient facilities within the ward team. Experience in care or hygiene roles is preferred, with a focus on meeting deadlines and guidelines.

The post holder will join a multi-disciplinary team, delivering essential cleaning, catering and minor maintenance tasks to enhance patient experience and ward operations.

Qualifications

  • GCSE maths and English at entry level and prior care experience.
  • Good communication skills and team-player attitude.
  • Caring attitude and commitment to patient comfort and environment.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all patient facilities and services in the ward area to ensure a clean, safe and comfortable environment.
  • Deliver cleaning, catering and minor maintenance services to meet patient needs and ward guidelines.
  • Monitor quality standards, report deficiencies and suggest improvements as part of the ward team.

Job description

You will be responsible for equipment ordering and supplies. Also playing a major role in the organisation of the ward environment and patient comfort. Ideally you will have experience within cleaning/housekeeping or hygiene based role where you have worked to deliver to deadlines and within set guidelines. The post holder is responsible for ensuring that the environment and catering services meet the needs and expectations of Patients, Visitors and the Ward team. The post holder will work as an integral part of the ward team. He/She will be responsible for the co-ordination of all patient facilities and services in the ward area and ensuring a clean, safe and comfortable environment. The main elements of the role are ensuring the delivery of cleaning, catering and minor maintenance services, together with other specified tasks to meet individual patient needs as determined by the Ward Sister/Charge Nurse. The post holder will monitor quality standards, reporting deficiencies and recommending appropriate changes., The post holder is responsible for ensuring that the environment and catering services meet the needs and expectations of Patients, Visitors and the Ward team.
