Job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our team at The Bedford Centre, Liverpool Women's Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for the unit's daily administrative duties, maintaining overall cleanliness, and reporting maintenance issues to ensure a safe and well-organized service.

Liverpool Women’s provides care for approximately 10,000 women annually. The role requires excellent communication skills, IT proficiency, and customer service abilities. The housekeeper must possess good communication skills, a friendly and approachable attitude, and the ability to work under pressure within a team.

  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness within the department.
  • Report maintenance jobs via the Estates & Facilities Help Desk and follow through to completion, liaising with technicians to access patient areas.
  • Source, order, receive, and distribute equipment and supplies within the unit, following specific training and competency assessments. Ensure all orders are checked, stored appropriately, and discrepancies resolved.
  • Conduct monthly audits and assist nurses with audits as needed.
  • Order, receive, and distribute staff uniforms.
  • Ensure stock levels are replenished in a timely manner.
  • Assist in providing beverages and food to patients.
  • Assist in cleaning and preparing rooms.
  • Report clinical equipment for repair and arrange for decontamination before leaving the ward/clinic.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties within The Bedford Centre.
  • Maintain a professional standard of conduct and personal appearance to instill confidence among staff, patients, and visitors.
  • Manage time effectively and prioritize workload efficiently.
  • Complete mandatory training.
  • Possess basic IT skills.
  • Familiarize with hospital policies.
